Krispy Kreme Franchise Philippines
Filipinos can't get enough of sweets, and doughnuts are always a delightful treat. That's why when Krispy Kreme Doughnuts invaded the Philippine market it was met with excitement and curiosity by the doughnut-loving community eager to have their bite of the famed "Hot Original Glazed". Since Krispy Kreme's opening in 1937, it has grown into a leading branded specialty retailer of doughnuts. In 2006, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. awarded development rights for the Philippines to The Real American Doughnut Company Inc., owned and operated by the principals of Max's, one of the Philippines' leading restaurant chains. Their agreement results in the opening of its flagship store on November 30, 2006 at the Bonifacio, Global City, in Taguig City and the development of some 30 locations over the next five years. At present, Krispy Kreme counts three stores, located in different shopping malls in Metro Manila. The management of Krispy Kreme is convinced of the management ability of Max's, which claims over sixty years of operating restaurants in the Philippines, to successfully establish the Krispy Kreme brand in the country. Robert Trota, President of Max's Franchising, Inc. said "We are looking forward to bringing Krispy Kreme and the hot doughnut experience to our customers," "Since 1945, the people of the Philippines have trusted Max's and our quality food products, and we are confident that they will appreciate and embrace Krispy Kreme's wonderful products as well." Krispy Kreme has no ownership stake in the franchisee. The Real American Doughnut Company Inc. holds a 100% ownership interest in the franchise.
Max's is a leading high-end Philippine restaurant specializing in chicken and traditional Filipino cuisine. It was founded by Maximo Gimenez, a Stanford-educated teacher, in 1945 and became popular among American occupation troops stationed in Quezon City, Philippines after the Second World War. The company is known for their signature chicken dish, developed for American soldiers and popular among Filipino customers. There are around 120 Max's Restaurants operating in strategic locations all over the Philippines and the United States of America. Before it opened it doors to the public, Krispy Kreme Philippines has invited some bloggers to a KK Doughnut & Coffee VIP Party. This is actually part of a marketing strategy to reach more potential customer through technologically enhanced "word-of-mouth" advertising. Aside from its well-known its hot, fresh, glazed, yeast-raised doughnuts, known as "Hot Original Glazed", it also produces more than a dozen other varieties of yeast-raised and cake doughnuts such as the glazed lemon-filled, traditional cake, sugar, chocolate iced glaze, chocolate iced with sprinkles, glazed raspberry-filled, New York cheesecake, powdered strawberry-filled, chocolate iced kreme-filled, glazed cruller, glazed sour cream, chocolate iced custard-filled, caramel kreme crunch, glazed chocolate cake, and more. In the Philippines, the doughnuts are priced at 30 pesos per piece which is quite high as other companies price theirs for as low as 16 pesos. But donut-lovers shrug it off as they know they are getting the value for their money with the delicious, hot glazed goodness they experience. |
